The SHRM Student Chapter at UTSA is an affiliate of the national SHRM organization which is the world's largest association devoted to human resource management with a network of over 200 student chapters, 575 professional chapters, and 300,000+ HR professionals. Additionally, the student chapter is sponsored by the San Antonio Human Resource Management Association (SAHRMA) which serves as the city's local SHRM professional chapter. SHRM at UTSA is also a College of Business registered student organization (RSO) with ties to several campus resources.

​These expansive local and national communities offer student members a vast network of diverse, knowledgeable professionals. We utilize these resources to provide members with opportunities to participate in networking events, engage with guest speakers, enrich their collegiate education, and explore potential career paths through internships.

Our History
Society of Human Resources Management
Originally founded in 1948 as the American Society for Personnel Administration (ASPA) by a small group of 28 individuals, SHRM has since grown into the world's largest HR professional society. SHRM provides education, thought leadership, certification, community and advocacy to enhance the practice of human resource management and the effectiveness of HR professionals in the organizations and communities they serve.

San Antonio SHRM
San Antonio SHRM was founded in 1959 as the San Antonio Personnel Management Association (SAPMA). SHRM at UTSA Student Chapter 
SHRM at UTSA was first chartered on January 30, 1979 as the UTSA Alamo Roadrunner Chapter of the ASPA. The chapter is an active UTSA College of Business Student Organization and is supported nationally from SHRM and locally from SAHRMA. The chapter has been Texas SHRM HR Games Champions, competed in national-wide competitions, and held the Superior Merit Award in multiple years.
